living in place logo

In October, 2019 Katherine became certified as a Living in Place Professional. This certifies that she has been trained to help design safe and inviting spaces for all ages, but especially those who wish to live in their homes longer instead of moving into senior homes. The training also allows Katherine to help improve her clients lives, regardless of age and abilities, while promoting independence and dignity throughout the design process. Katherine offers this in all of her bathroom designs as anyone could experience a broken leg or hip surgery at some point in their life! Or… it is thoughtful to plan ahead when designing a guest bathroom for an aged parent who may visit. There are many choices to consider, but safety & accessibility are always top of Katherine’s design process!

univeral bathroom vanity

This is the Universal bathroom created for a wheelchair bound client. The vanity has been designed so a wheelchair could roll right up to the sink.

univeral bathroom shower

The shower is fully accessible and can accommodate a full turn in a wheelchair. The smart toilet has support and a transfer space on the right for assistance if necessary.

univeral bathroom bathtub

A beautiful tub was included for her as he did not want this bathroom to look like it was only accessible for him. Lights were installed under the vanity to illuminate the room at night for a safe entrance to the room.

Words can't begin to express how much we are enjoying all the wonderful updates you did on our home. You made our house not only beautiful but functional again and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you for your creativity and design skills, for going "above and beyond" and for your never ending patience!
